The key, of course, is building good relationships and promoting a positive, helpful and friendly environment. At Absolute Flooring & Interiors, we take it one step further, by paying attention to what our customers have to say.
One would think that this last part would be important to every business, but that is not always the case. What we have found in the 24 years we’ve been in business is that many of our competitors push products that are in the store’s best interest, not the customer’s. Here we make it a point to pay attention, because we are consumer oriented. That has paid off for us, because most of our business comes from word of mouth and referrals. Our customers know they are going to get something they can be proud of, sold to them by experts in the field and they are happy to pass their experiences on to their friends and business associates.
Knowledge is another very important ingredient at Absolute Flooring & Interiors. If you don’t have the knowledge, or understand the circumstances of installation, you’re going to have a customer with a failed floor. Too many installers have no idea what they’re working with. You’ve got to know your adhesives, your glues, your setting materials. You’ve got to know all of that, not just the product. Anybody can sell flooring off the shelf. Only an expert can take it to the next level.
The fact that we’ve had the same staff at Absolute Flooring & Interiors for the entire time we’ve been open already sets us apart from the big box stores. We’ve got knowledge, experience and a much larger variety, which means we can actually explain the differences between products. We can discuss the pros and cons of every decision. We work with designers and manufacturers, so the people who come to us are expecting quality.
We also know the customer experience doesn’t necessarily end with the sale. We teach people how to take care of their floor after it is installed. We explain exactly what they can and can’t do. And if they have any questions, they can always call and ask. As an example, we recently had a man come in who had tile floors put in a month and a half ago. He decided to have professional cleaners come in and clean the tile, but they used something that discolored the grout. We’re working with him to try to find out what happened, what product was used and how to get it off. We don’t want him to be unhappy with his new floor, even if we didn’t have anything to do with the problem.

Listening to our customers and working with them to find exactly the right fit for their homes or offices is just the beginning of a very satisfying experience.
